The North American Dostoevsky Society invites applications for a special Deborah A. Martinsen Travel Award to support travel to the XIX International Dostoevsky Symposium in Buenos Aires. Named for Deborah A. Martinsen, a former President of both the International and North American Dostoevsky Societies and preeminent Dostoevsky scholar, the Martinsen Award is a travel bursary to help graduate students or other precariously employed members of the North American Dostoevsky Society to defray costs associated with attending a conference to present their work on Dostoevsky. This cycle will support several awards of up to $1,500 towards the costs of attending the XIX IDS in Buenos Aires. The submission deadline is Wednesday, February 11th, 2026, and successful applicants will be notified shortly afterwards. All NADS members in good standing who are based in North America and have had a paper accepted for the XIX IDS are invited to apply. Please submit your application to this Google form before midnight PST on Wednesday, February 11th, 2026.
